In the spirit of good, old fashioned family fun, James and I struck off to Twin Lakes campground in Mammoth a few weekends ago with our adventurous family. With camping gear, fishing poles, sleeping bags, a tent, and little Berkeley packed in tight, we journeyed into the high Sierra's looking for fresh mountain air, and a little peace and quiet. We had 48 hours to find the calm away from our weekly grind, and took a 'Weekend Warrior' approach and filled our schedule with these little moments:
- Peakanobe Lodge surprise dinner party overlooking Lake Mary (thanks, Chad!)
- Playing games around the campfire
- Fishing Lake Mamie
- Taking in some sun at The Loony Bean and strolling the Arts & Craft fair
- Paddling Twin Lakes taking photos of the gorgeous waterfall
- A treacherous hike around Lake George (thanks, Chad?), and of course
- A little layover at Schat's Bakery in Bishop
